Adding to the Henrietta Marie experience, audio files enhance our ability to gain compassion for the miseries of the slave trade and perhaps comprehend the horrors that existed.

This piece is in two parts describing the slave ship experience.

The first is a narrative from the African slave Olaudah Equiano. Spoken in his native language, Igbo, and repeated in English. This is an excerpt of his experience in the miseries of the Slave Trade. (min. 0 - 3:15)

The second portion of the track is an excerpt from the account of Dr. Alexander Falconbridge, doctor aboard a slave ship in 1788. (min. 3:15 - 4:59)
