YOUNG NAVIGATORS

Are you interested in exploring?

Join Young Navigators - a club for people to investigate oceans, the flora and fauna that live in them, and those who travel the seas.

Through attending courses offered by the museum, and completing self-directed inquiries to earn pins, students attain higher ranks within Young Navigators.

Any 2nd - 5th grader is eligible to become a Young Navigator

The primary goals of Young Navigators are to allow youth to individualize their exploration of museum subject matter, provide multiple entry points into maritime education, foster leadership skills, develop a sense of belonging, and cultivate a sense of ownership of—and investment in—the museum.

Components of Young Navigators include:

  • Classes offered at the museum
  • Family programming
  • Special events for Young Navigator members
  • Individualized/ Small group  exploration in order to earn pins
  • Monthly publication of The Young Navigator
  • Tiered benefits and privileges for students, dependent on the rank they’ve earned
