JULY 20 IS MEL FISHER DAY IN
KEY WEST
On Friday, July 20, a celebration marking the 16th anniversary of the discovery of
Mel Fisher's mother lode begins with a parade at 4:30 p.m.
You're invited
to join Mel Fisher's crew and the staff of the Mel
Fisher Maritime Museum as they proceed from the Museum at 200
Greene Street to Two Friends Patio Restaurant and Bar at
512 Front Street. BYOK (Bring your Own kazoo) and hop aboard
the Mel Fisher trolley or pedicab and join the fun.
From 5-6:30
p.m., a Happy Hour will feature Kim Fisher signing his father's
biography 'Dream Weaver." At 6:30, the party moves to the Schooner Wharf Bar at 202
William. Mel Fisher "Tall Tales" will be sold from 7-7:30 p.m. Participants will
compete for prizes by identifying which "tales" are indeed true.
Prizes include a Mel Fisher bronze medallion, bar tabs, and goodie bags. The Oysters Fantastic Band will
entertain throughout the evening.
Join in a
fun-filled afternoon and evening as we pay tribute to one of Key
