KIDS’
AND FAMILY DAY AT MEL FISHER MARITIME MUSEUM ON NOVEMBER
29
Meet
Captain Holly at Kids’ and Family Day in the courtyard
at Mel Fisher Maritime Museum at 200 Greene Street on
Saturday, November 29 from 10 a.m. – 2 p.m.
Sponsored
by the Mel Fisher Maritime Heritage Society, Keys
Federal Credit Union and Pirates in Paradise, this FREE
event gives kids a chance to tell Captain Holly,
Santa’s Southernmost helper, what they want for
Christmas.
Santa sends Captain Holly out ahead of time to
hear from the children of the Southernmost City.
Braving icebergs, storms and tropical heat waves,
Captain Holly sails down from the North Pole to gather
up Christmas lists.
Kids
are urged to dress up as elves or pirates and
participate in a costume contest at 1 p.m.
At 10:30 a.m., kids can learn to navigate a
treasure map.
They’ll be lots of pirate games such as Bubbles
and Bones, Tall Tales and Wild Yarns, and Swashbuckling
Swordplay.
Meet the pirate crews from Pyrates of the Coast
(Port Orchard, WA), Tortuga Mutineers (Marathon) and the
West Coast Pioneers (Sarasota).
It’s all fun and it’s free!
The
Mel Fisher Maritime Museum is a 501c(3) not for profit
organization dedicated to the research, preservation,
and education of New World history.
Founded in 1982, it is the most visited
