Research

The Henrietta Marie has provided the Mel Fisher Maritime Heritage Society an opportunity to show the very best that we do. Our archaeologists and conservators have spent years recovering, conserving and researching the origins of the artifacts found. This is only the beginning.

We want to share our finding and continue telling the story of the Henrietta Marie. In fieldwork we plan to give you data as it is recovered, how the actual excavation and project is progressing, and what life is like out to sea while we are on-site. In articles we present the knowledge we have learned on understanding how and why the Henrietta Marie operated, the nature of the objects she carried, and the lifestyles of those who sailed on her. Our essay book is the result of our research and work on the Henrietta Marie.

Our research is ongoing and presented to give insight into the many aspects of the Henrietta Marie. Please check back as we update and expand regularly.
