Buccaneers’ Club Expands to Wednesdays
Thanks
to enthusiastic turn-out of kids, the Buccaneers’ Club
will now offer two fun-filled learning sessions each
week instead of just one. The popular after-school
activity club, created and coordinated by the Mel Fisher
Maritime Heritage Society’s education department, has
filled its Monday afternoon session and is expanding to
offer Wednesday afternoon gatherings from 3:30 to 5:30
p.m.
Kids
aged 7 through 11 are invited to take part in the club
and learn about maritime history, knot-tying, navigation
and the use of a compass, and the marine archaeological
skills necessary to recover artifacts and treasures from
the bottom of the sea.
The
Buccaneers’ Club meets at the Mel Fisher Maritime
Heritage Society Museum at 200 Greene Street. For more
