MEL FISHER MARITIME MUSEUM
RANKED NUMBER ONE AMONG SCIENCE MUSEUMS IN STATE GRANTS COMPETITION
The Mel Fisher Maritime Museum recently garnered top scores and a number one ranking from the Florida Division of Cultural Affairs’ grants competition for mid-sized science museums in the state. The Museum will be eligible for up to $97,800 for general support of the Museum’s programs and operations when the actual grant awards are made this summer.
In addition to the Cultural Affairs grant, Mel Fisher Museum also has received two new grants from the Florida Department of Historical Resources - $35,000 to support museum exhibits and $43,780 for general operations.
The Mel Fisher Maritime Museum is an independent, not-for-profit 501 c (3) organization that has been nationally-accredited museum by the American Association of Museums. The Museum is dedicated to the exhibition, archaeology, preservation and research of our maritime history in the New World.
